We’ve been on a quest to find a great quality easy-to-install mobile DVR for years now and we finally found it in our new CARDVR. This camera / microphone / DVR combo is super easy to install – you just attach it to your windshield via the provided clip and plug it into your cigarette lighter. Its as easy to install as a radar detector – no drilling, bolts, or tools required. The DVR contains a built-in 4 gig SD card which will store about 24 hours of video and audio. Once the SD card is full, the unit will start overwriting the oldest data on the card. The DVR records continuously, however when an ‘event’ is detected it is automatically put in a separate folder for easy retrieval. Events are detected via a built-in 3-Axis Shock Sensor.

Downloading the recorded data to your computer is super easy too. The SD card can plug into an SD adaptor or a USB adaptor (both come with the kit) which you then plug into your computer. Software is provided on the SD card that you install on your computer to configure the device and interact with the recorded data. The shock sensor data is also included with the recorded data and retrievable via the provided software.

The camera has a super wide angle of view (120 degrees) so you can see everything happening in front and around the sides of the vehicle. The real-time video and audio quality on this mobile DVR is better than anything we’ve ever seen.
